The Matrix Coaster

The Matrix Coaster

I've been putting this off for ages but I'm finally getting down to business. As someone who's clearly a tech enthusiast, you're probably familiar with The Matrix. If not, do yourself a favor and watch it; the original is a timeless classic, even if the sequels aren't quite as impressive. One of the most iconic images from the movie is the screen displaying the Matrix 'waterfall' code in the background, so I knew I had to recreate it. Yes, I'm aware that the waterfall is composed of numbers in the film, but that would be beyond the capabilities of my printer's resolution. Nonetheless, I'm thrilled with how this turned out – although I did realize after finishing it that I have another shade of green filament available, which is darker, so I could have printed the top sections of the waterfall traces more effectively. Oh well... I won't sugarcoat it; assembling this coaster was a real challenge. Be prepared for long hours spent with tweezers and some seriously foul language when you inevitably drop the smaller parts (and trust me, you will). This coaster is upgradeable with 3x5mm neodymium magnets, transforming it into a magnetic plaque, and can be purchased printed and assembled in my Etsy store – www.etsy.com/uk/shop/enterprisexddesign
