The MakerBot SpoolHolder
thingiverse
This is a custom Spool Holder for my MakerBot Replicator 2, which I printed on a CR10-S5 to avoid cutting and complete in one session. I utilized two existing holes per side, matching the Makerbot's specifications, but needed slightly larger screws and bearings to fit snugly within the cylinder holding the spool. Required materials include: - Four M6 x 12 (or x15 or possibly more) screws - Two bearings with specific dimensions: - Inner circle: 8mm - Outer circle: 22mm I added a sponge under the large support for increased pressure and stability. To prepare the Filament Cylinder, I heated it with a heat gun, focusing on the edges to facilitate bearing insertion. The PLA material molded well around the bearings during printing. The resulting Filament Cylinder fits comfortably within the Flashforge spool (approximately 52mm inner circle), requiring minimal sanding for a smoother fit.
