UPDATED on February 1, 2012, this design has been improved for increased reliability and sturdiness. The enhanced design now features stronger backstop teeth that secure firmly into cubicle walls and can hold up to 40 lbs of weight! The .stl files are available in black ABS and white, but the drawings may need adjustments if different ABS colors are used due to varying contraction rates. To create this adjustable MakerBot Cubicle Coat Hook, print the selected .stl file using full support in ReplicatorG. Carefully remove the rafting from the two pieces using an Exacto knife, being cautious not to cut yourself. For added flair, you can fill the MakerBot logo with red paint using a syringe with its tip ground off. Assemble the hook by installing 2 each of 10/32-1/2" machine screws with desired head type and 2 each of 3/8" nuts in 10/32 threading. Load the nuts into the bottom of the backstop, followed by the screws on top of the slotted main body. Adjust and tighten the screws to the thickness of your cubicle wall for a stylish coat hook that can also hold hats, plants, or small orangutans!
