There are many mods out there to stiffen the QQ-s rods, but I wasn't satisfied. the clip on are mostly useless, the rods would still bend and twist. let's be UPFRONT: with this mod i can print with 3000 mm/s^2 acceleration with NO RINGING (ghosting) AT ALL even on very small features. before this mod, I needed to use 1000 mm/s^2 . This mod is completely different from the others, it is connecting the rods to the external structure making the printer and the rod themselves *REALLY* stiff. the reason being that it has a very slight preload, locks the steel rods in place on the side panels. the drawback is that you have to disassemble the printer to mount it (partly, look at the bottom!). The zip ties are raccomended, but since the part puts a very slight preload on the external structure, it was similarly stiff even without the zipties. Instructions: you should print the hole gauge file first. so you can check the exact hole size by trying what of the 5 holes fits snugly on your steel rods. because every printer has different tolerances and settings when printing holes. and you want the holes to be a tight fit. the rods are 8.00mm nominal, so I provided 5 versions of the stiffeners with holes 8.1 - 8.2 - 8.3 - 8.4 - 8.5 mm so you can have a snug fit. on mine I had to use the 8.3 holes and they were a bit too tight. you can check on another steel rod if you have one around. otherwise you need to disassemble a rod from the printer. you then have to print 3x stiffners with the corrisponding hole size. please bear in mind, they are classified by radius instead of diameter, so the 4.05 is the 8.1mm hole and so on. I'll correct the names in my next release if I ever do one. about the disassembly. I printed the hole gauge, then i disassembled the 3 long side panels and released the belts from the top, and I managed to slide out two rods from the bottom without disassembling the printer, just because the structure is so flimsy when it's held only by the rods.. then I printed the correct 3 stiffeners without re-assembling the side panels. and then i released the rods 2 at a time and put the stiffner on. So you don't really need to disassemble the whole printer.
