The MMID Foundation, teaming up with Red Lobster Divers, has developed 'The Lobster', a SCUBA product that makes interaction between buddies and divers with physical disabilities a whole lot simpler. The Lobster makes diving safer and more fun for both the diver and buddy alike. This system is designed specifically for divers with physical disabilities, but it could prove useful for anyone willing to give it a try. The system boasts three main features: The firm grip of the bar allows buddies to orientate themselves and their divers underwater with ease. The system improves stability for the diver, enabling one of its users with muscular disease to dive without buddy guidance for the first time in her life! The floating strap around the inflator hose makes it float, making it easier for buddies to reach and operate. MMID Foundation MMID Foundation was initiated by MMID employees - an international product development agency based in Delft, Netherlands and Essen and Ulm, Germany. At MMID, sharing is a core philosophy: sharing knowledge and taking care of each other. From this idea, and with social involvement at its heart, the MMID team decided to start the MMID Foundation. With this foundation, the MMID team shares valuable products and knowledge with those who need it but can't access it otherwise. Red Lobster Divers Red Lobster Divers is a foundation that promotes snorkeling and scuba diving for people who normally struggle joining regular dive clubs or schools. Especially welcome are people with mental or physical disabilities, as well as ASS. The foundation has special training programs for both candidate divers and dive guides. Red Lobster Divers organizes scuba training in various locations across Holland and offers diving holidays to places like Bonaire.
