The Lion of Knidos
thingiverse
From the British Museum, a colossal marble lion from a tomb monument is displayed. This Greek sculpture, approximately 350-200 BC, originates from Knidos in south-west Asia Minor (modern Turkey). Made of marble, it measures an impressive 3m x 2m. The British Museum's Object number is GR 1859.12-26.24 (Sculpture 1350), and it was discovered by Richard Pullan. Cosmo Wenman scanned this monument using Autodesk 123D Catch in August 2012, sharing the scan along with an unedited .obj file. The statue has a unique expression on its face that resembles a quasi-human quality, and it serves as a striking display in the Great Room of the British Museum.
