A deafening roar thundered through the tunnel, growing louder by the second and causing the walls to tremble violently. The gladiator's eyes widened in horror as sweat dripped down his face like rain. He edged closer to the gate, desperate for a better look at his formidable opponent. Another terrifying roar sent his heart soaring, and as the gleam of two piercing golden eyes caught the light, panic set in with a vengeance. A mighty white lion emerged from the darkness, its body a map of battle-scarred flesh. This fearless creature had clearly outlasted more opponents than it could count. The warrior hurled his spear with all his might, but as the point neared the face of the beast, a massive paw swiped the spear and sent it careening off course. The warrior stood stunned at the agility the lion had displayed, and then the beast pounced, taking its attacker down to the ground with lightning speed and delivering a crushing bite to the skull that left him paralyzed."
