The Lincoln Imp

The Lincoln Imp

I'm fascinated by the Lincoln Imp. One is cleverly concealed within the Gothic arches of Lincoln Cathedral, but I encourage you to visit and challenge yourself to spot it. This treasure hunt can lead you to numerous other imps scattered across the globe. Meanwhile, my 3D printing skills have improved dramatically. I scaled down a pla print to 25% using Sli3er, resulting in a fantastic lapel badge or keychain. Next, I'm working on a larger version and will share updates once it's complete. To give it an authentic look, I applied a spray adhesive and coated the imp with fine cement/lime mortar from Blue Circle. Whether this resembles Ancaster stone remains to be seen, but after drying, I'll restore the details by brushing off excess material. A blend of colored chalk might also produce the desired effect. You can purchase stone-effect paint, but it comes at a hefty price.
