The lakes valley in Blender 3D model
cgtrader
This is by far the biggest environment ever created within Blender up to now. It makes an ideal base for creating matte paintings and animations due to its open design and suitability for image creation. The scene is light in texture and very easy to manage. The scenery available only comes in .blend format, so unfortunately it won't transfer properly to other software applications. However, there are workarounds if you still want to use it in some way. For example, you can download the accompanying heightmap in .tif format which works with programs that have a displacement feature. Notes: This environment is made up of 2 very basic terrain scenes (one core and one background) designed using Gaea modeling tools. In Blender (Render Cycles), these scenes were also fully texture-mapped. For the landscape base, the creators included five ecosystems modeled using Particle Systems, while three trees, three rocks, and one bunch of grass textures are packed together in an easy-to-access bundle. Packing includes: one big .blend file with the scene; nine different alpha-mask image sets (for varying colors); two different heightmaps in 16-bit TIF format (.tif) suitable for most displacement mapping programs. A single pdf guidebook explaining how to unpack everything correctly is included within this bundle. One little note - when downloading this pack, be aware it splits into a couple of big parts, you have to download and put them back together carefully or your .blend scene may not load up correctly.
