THE Automatic Treat Dispenser is a user-friendly, engaging, and straightforward candy machine that looks fantastic on any table! I created this to be used at events so younger students can have something interactive to show off the capabilities of 3D printing technology. I will also use this as a simple assembly project for my advanced CAD students. All parts fit together smoothly and everything works perfectly! The AutomaticTreatDispenser.stl file has a slight overhang for the channel, but it still printed out fine for me, although could possibly require some supports if desired. STEP 2 - Cut out a piece of glass or plexi-glass. I used a .100" (or 2.5mm) thick piece of plexi-glass cut at 3" x 7". Then use a band saw to cut out a small rectangle to access the candies. A STL file for a 3D printed version will be included if you happen to have translucent plastic (clearsheet.stl). Also, a PDF with dimensions has been uploaded to help this step. STEP 3 (Assembly) - Start with the Base.stl and then add the AutomaticTreatDispenser.stl on top of the grooves. This should be a snug fit and may require some persuasion. Next, add your plexi-glass. Then, attach your Shaft and Control Knob. A hole for a 6-32 x 1.25" bolt with a 6-32 nut to hold the knob to the shaft is included. Although it's not necessary because it is a very tight fit, it couldn't hurt. Last, add your Top.stl file. STEP 4 - Add your candies (other sweets would work as well) and then put your plug in the top. ENJOY!
