You awaken facedown, with grains of sand seeping into your skin. The blistering midday sun forces you to squint, and as you do, you take in the desolate landscape: a solitary figure, alone on this forsaken shore. Beside you lies a shattered boat, its splintered hull a testament to some long-forgotten catastrophe, alongside a tattered map that stretches out like a lifeline, beckoning you forward. A dirt path unwinds before you, a meandering serpent that vanishes into the horizon. Your throat is parched, your body crying out for sustenance. With a newfound sense of purpose, you rise to your feet and begin to walk, the sand biting at your skin with each deliberate step.
