The incredible Filament Killer Gun (Filament Pelletizer Shredder)
thingiverse
Low-Cost Filament Pelletizer. Filament leftovers and poorly manufactured filament do not perform well in conventional shredders, so a specialized tool like this one is needed to give plastic another chance at becoming better-quality filament next time. STL Files are included, but the design must be adapted to the steel tube it uses and your specific drilling machine. This is simply to illustrate how it works. Drilling can be done in both directions; when used with normal drilling direction, the filament fed into the single hole at the top of the steel tube comes out pelletized through the three connected holes (see photo). With reverse direction, they come out from the top. It operates as quickly as you can feed it, but generates heat - make breaks and avoid using PLA for the tube holder. There's another tiny hole in the steel tube for mounting (connected with the topmost screw). I drilled the holes into the steel tube with a different purpose in mind, so the feeder hole could be narrower than what appears on the photos. A ball bearing was used to guide the drill, but it seems unnecessary. It produces very fine pellets (as also visible on the pictures).
