The Impossible Gem Knob
prusaprinters

Overview

Looks like a gem, but then again, what gem could look like this?

There are two stem length options depending on personal preference and both models are designed for use with standard #8-32 screws. I've also included the original STEP files so you can easily edit the bolt size if need be.

Printing

I printed using Prusament Dark Blue PVB on the Prusa i3 MK3 with 0.1mm layer height and a 0.4mm nozzle. The provided g-code only uses 0.15mm layer height because it reduces risk of a failed print from low layer height, while maintaining a lot of detail in the print.

The STLs are included if you do want to re-slice and add more detail with a smaller nozzle and layer height. For supports, just select “support on build plate only”. I'd also recommend using variable layer height, with thicker layers on the stem and thinner layers on the knob. This can help speed up the print if the default time is too long.

Please like it if you do and leave any comments!

Check out my TikTok!

Check out my YouTube!
