Human: Bruce Banner was working fervently in his lab when he spotted teenager Rick Jones wandering freely across the test range. Without hesitation, he sprinted onto the site and valiantly thrust Rick into the protective trench to save him from the impending blast. Unfortunately, as a result of the heroic act, Bruce was inundated with extreme amounts of gamma radiation that drastically altered his DNA structure due to gamma rays and trauma inherited from his Father. This catastrophic event triggered a transformation within him, causing him to morph into an enormous green (initially grey) monster of unmatched power whenever he becomes enraged. With only his girlfriend Betty Ross seeming capable of soothing the Hulk back into Banner, she often finds herself caught in the midst of their tumultuous lives, constantly pursued by her Father, Thunderbolt Ross, who also happens to be Bruce's arch-nemesis. As a result, Bruce is frequently on the run, desperately seeking a cure for his affliction while maintaining a precarious balance between keeping calm and battling formidable super-villains.
