The Herefordshire Beacon
sketchfab
The Herefordshire Beacon stands proudly as an Iron Age Hill Fort, constructed with precision during the second century BC. At some point, however, it fell into disuse around AD 50. Later, in the year 1060, Harold Godwinson - who would later be known as Harold I - saw fit to refortify this strategic location. Still, a significant challenge emerged during the Anarchy period between Stephen and Matilda, prompting yet another round of fortification at the Herefordshire Beacon.
