The heavy brackets for CR10 S5
thingiverse
The heavy brackets for CR10 S5. For more stiffness of the gantry I designed this brackets. The front and back brackets differ at a different rod angle. Print the parts laying on side with supports under / between the slot guidances. Use 6mm wall thickness and 0,3mm layer height, 75% infill for PLA or PETG. With the brackets, stay onto the 4020 profile. You need: 4x M10 threaded rods, 1m lenght, shorten them appropriately (in hardware store, the M8 rods coming from China aren't very solid, you cand bend them over the knee therefore M10 is slightly better) At the bottom end of the rod you need 3 M10 nuts and a washer, at the top end you need 3 M10 nuts and 2 washers, therefore in total it's 24 M10 Nuts and 12 washers. 32x Allen screw M5, 30mm Allen key 4mm 32x hammer nut M5 2 Open-ended wrenches 17mm Ratchet with nut 17mm (for top brackets) Start assembly with a bottom bracket, hand-tighten the rod with inner and outer nuts, then put top bracket together and mark the rod, it should exceed the outermost nut by 5mm. Brackets should be positioned at the end of the 4020 profiles (do not let them exceed the 2020 ones). Disassemble everything and shorten the rod. After that re-assemble everything, the tightening torque for M10 nuts should be about 20-30 Nm, for the Allen screws about 5-10 Nm. Once a year re-tighten nuts & bolts and afterwards re-level the bed. Have fun!
