I've taken another shot at the Casabella "stringmop" competition! The core idea remains unchanged from my initial entry, but this time I've optimized the pulley system to reside near the arm height, boosting accessibility and functionality. To achieve even more substantial compression of the spring, I now incorporate a clever rotational motion that's integrated directly into the upper handle - it's pure genius, if I do say so myself. I firmly believe this innovative approach holds massive potential and represents a radical new perspective, entirely unexplored in previous designs. While additional refinement will undoubtedly be required to achieve optimal manufacturing feasibility, I'm confident my creation serves as a solid demonstration of the principles at play. For those looking to streamline manufacturability even further, consider sacrificing the curved shape of the helix for a more straightforward cylindrical form – it wouldn't drastically alter the performance but would undoubtedly make assembly and maintenance simpler. Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm all ears and look forward to constructive feedback!
