The Grand Candle Cup (tea candle expo)
thingiverse
The Grand Candle Cup was a clever ruse, designed to deceive consumers with its promise of grandeur. By printing a tiny version of the product's image on the box, it created an expectation of something much larger in scale. The idea was to blur the lines between everyday decorative objects like vases and chandeliers, blending them into one unique piece - a tea candle display that could be filled with water and candles floating inside, creating a visually appealing centerpiece for any home. However, this clever concept fell flat when the product itself turned out to be small, almost insignificant, barely able to hold one tiny candle. The irony was not lost on consumers, who were surprised to find it took up less than 10% of the box's space. The biggest impact came when a consumer first opened the box and realized just how small the Grand Candle Cup truly was. I'm eager to see how others interpret this design and manipulate scale to create something truly innovative, which is why I've shared it on Thingiverse for all to experiment with.
