The golden snitch, the smallest of the balls, has the size of a nut and has small wings in silver which allow him to twirl. As the name suggests, the ball itself is gold. It was originally an animal, called the golden vivet, which was replaced by a bewitched mechanism, the living being endangered. It is specially bewitched to escape as long as possible to the catchers.
