Background history They call it a tree-breaker. It's said that for centuries these creatures have roamed the forests of Ancient Earth. Their objectives are unclear, their location unknown. Despite grunts, their language somehow echoes our own language. In rare encounters with humans, these creatures seem to ignore our presence, as if they've made clear our insignificance. However, elders tell of bloody clashes between these creatures and humans in times when drought devastated all lands and difficulty finding animals to feed themselves put us on their menu. Elders teach that at that ancient time, we learned from an early age, even before mastering the bow and arrow, that the best thing to do when hearing the sound of falling trees and birds fleeing in flight is to seek out the best hiding place and wait – just wait.
