The General Tjahapimu

The inscription on General Tjahapimu's belt boldly declares him as "Brother of the King, Father of the Kings." He proudly stands as the father of Nectanebo II, whose name is etched on the back pillar, and, according to a recent study, is most likely brother of Nectanebo I. Flawless high polish and powerful muscles exude boundless energy from the statue.Tjahapimu plays a significant role in the political power struggles of the period. When Teos, the son and successor of Nectanebo I, launched a military campaign in Asia, he left his uncle Tjahapimu in charge of Egypt. Tjahapimu's own son joined the army, challenged Teos for control, and, with his father's support from Egypt, seized the crown to become Nectanebo II.
