When I initially discovered the various Handheld Raspberry Pi Retro Gaming Consoles, I knew instantly that I had to build one. Rather than simply replicating someone else's design, I wanted the challenge of designing and building my very own custom game console from scratch. There are outstanding examples out there, and I aimed to merge all their strengths into a single, superior design. The initial cost of these handheld consoles can be quite steep, often exceeding $200 or more, so I also sought to make mine affordable without sacrificing any functionality. My primary objective was to minimize the hardware and costs while maximizing the features. In the end, I successfully built this RetroPie handheld gaming console for a mere $100.
