The Galaxy on Orion's Belt
pinshape
In order to prevent war, the Galaxy is hidden safely on Orion's Belt. This intricate replica of the galaxy prop that adorned Gentle Rosenberg's cat, Orion, in the original Men in Black movie has been meticulously crafted. Gentle Rosenberg, a prince of the Arquillians, met an untimely demise early in the film, leaving behind his loyal feline companion and the Galaxy, which held great significance for his people. I printed this model at 290.34% scale on my Ultimaker 3 using dual material and soluble support structures. The results were impressive, with the model printing exceptionally well at a layer height of 0.1 mm and 15% infill. To better capture the intricate details, I slowed down the printing speed to 45 mm/s. In addition to the STL file for the entire model, I've included separate files for just the top and bottom sections. Printing these individual parts may yield better results when using conventional support structures instead of soluble ones. Use the same settings as before to achieve optimal results. After lightly sanding the model, I applied a mix of gold and silver Testors enamel paint to bring out its intricate details. To add an extra touch, I inserted a small Christmas ornament inside the model, replicating the galaxy orb from the movie. However, if you'd prefer to print this component as well, I've included a separate STL file for your convenience.
