The Gabba is a leading sports venue located in the Queensland capital of Brisbane. It's named after the Woolloongabba suburb, where it sits. However, its official name still remains Brisbane Cricket Ground. The area was designated for cricket use back in 1895. Between 1993 and 2005, The Gabba underwent a major redevelopment project, completed in six stages at an impressive $128 million AUD cost. Presently, the playing field dimensions measure 170.6 metres (east-west) by 149.9 metres (north-south). The ground now accommodates up to 42,000 spectators.
