The Fürst barge
grabcad
I created an illustration of a boat based on the original architectural drawings from 1851. The initial vessel was constructed at Lindtveit in Øyestad under the direction of Consul Wittus Juell Furst in that same year. It was built as a gift for his 13-year-old son. Used until the 1950s, it doesn't appear to have been utilized extensively. Possibly, it has seen more use as a recreational boat. The barge features three ropes, rudders and sailing equipment. Constructed with wooden rivets, it is an improved version of a traditional local barge. In 1960, the vessel was donated to the Arendal museum, which holds significant conservation value.
