The Four Musketeers #3
sketchfab
Named in tribute to Alexandre Dumas' novel The Three Musketeers (1844), this set of four pots pays homage to the central character d'Artagnan, who becomes the fourth musketeer at the conclusion of the narrative. Dr Iskandar's 'portrait' was inspired by the flair and showmanship of these swashbuckling adventurers and their famous battle cry "All for one and one for all!". The pots are depicted as united but still distinct, just like in the novel. Black 'Athos' is the father figure, mentor, and melancholic one; Orange 'Porthos' is the bold, arrogant, and fearless swordsman; Blue 'Aramis' is the charming, romantic, and loyal musketeer; and 'd'Artagnan's' lavender pot represents his youthful dream of joining the ranks of the musketeers. Dr Iskandar has created solid, ungraded colors using colored slips. All four pots have similar ovoid shapes and sizes; each bears a small lug-handle on its shoulder.
