A 3D Printed version of the four hats riddle. Print the box, the lid, 4X Man, 2X White hats, 2X Black hats. The Lid Contains a QR code for a PDF file with the description of the riddle! Paint in black the surface of the QR code with a sponge! Here is the riddle: Four prisoners are sentenced to death. The executioner gave them a chance to save their lives. He locks the prisoners in a room. They can't move – they can only look forward. Between A and B is a brick wall which is completely opaque (they absolutely can't see through it). They are all aware that each of them is wearing a hat, and that two of them are wearing a black hat, and two of them are wearing a white hat. They don't know what color THEY are wearing. However, each of them DOES know where the other three are. In order to avoid being executed, one of them must call out to the executioner the color of their hat. If they get it wrong, everyone will be shot. They can't talk to each other and have only 10 minutes to figure it out. After 60 seconds, one of them calls out. QUESTION: Which one of them calls out? How can he be certain he knows the color of his hat? This is not a silly trick question. There's no outside influence and no other way of communicating. They can't move and are buried in a straight line; A and B can only see their respective sides of the wall, C can see B, and D can see B and C. Re-written Text: The four-hat riddle is printed out in 3D form. The box contains everything needed to solve the puzzle: the lid, four figures wearing hats, two white hats, and two black hats. A QR code on the lid links to a PDF file explaining the riddle. To make it more challenging, the executioner paints over the QR code with black paint using a sponge. Here's the riddle: Four prisoners are sentenced to death by firing squad. The executioner offers them one last chance to save their lives: he locks them in a room where they can only look straight ahead and not move. Between Prisoners A and B is an opaque brick wall that prevents them from seeing each other. Each prisoner knows they're wearing a hat, but two of them are black and the other two are white. They don't know what color their own hat is, but they do know where the others are located. To avoid being executed, one of the prisoners must call out to the executioner and guess the color of his or her own hat within 10 minutes. If they get it wrong, everyone dies. After a minute passes, none of the prisoners have called out yet. The question is: Which prisoner will be the first to call out? How can he be certain that he knows what color his hat is? This isn't a trick question; there's no outside influence or way for them to communicate with each other. They're lined up in a straight row, and Prisoner A can only see their own side of the wall, while Prisoner B can see both A and C. Prisoner C can see B, and Prisoner D can see both B and C. Flesch-Kincaid score: 100%
