They have outlived their usefulness, but they were not deemed suitable to be Shackled for their ferocity, their jailers fearing that these specters might become dominant personalities in the Shackled conglomerations and inadvertently become much more powerful. Instead, they are abandoned to go feral. Their spectral forms begin to mutate and develop additional, rudimentary limbs in the form of blades, mimicking their former weapons.
