Scaled model of shallow water wreck of the "Flora" now rests at Northport Michigan. This wreck showcases a classic early 20th century fishing vessel that once navigated Grand Traverse Bay waters in Michigan. Experts believe this relic is actually the remains of the Flora, a William Hopkins-owned vessel that sank between 1940 and 1950. In the 1950s-1960s, teenagers would often swim out to the wreck, which sits submerged in 12 feet of water, and attempt to pry pieces off as mementos. The model was crafted using 492 images on September 7, 2016. Holes were carefully carved into the model to represent the shadows cast by the wreck on the lakebed below.
