I've initiated the process of crafting basic mesh models that are versatile and can serve as a foundation for various future creations, thereby potentially streamlining my workflow. This approach should help prevent my work from appearing overly uniform, although I acknowledge there's always a risk involved. For this exercise, I will focus on designing human faces, which generally adhere to established proportions unless they're intentionally deformed or feature non-human elements. To gain more experience with multiple components prior to tackling a complex model, I've chosen to start with a female head, neck, and partial shoulders – often referred to as a bust. There's an intricate model I aim to create in the future that I want to master by practicing with various parts ahead of time. The theme for this project is the Flapper era. A poem I came across effectively captures the essence of this style: The New Fashioned Girl Let them extol the virtues of girls from days gone by, Whose ankles were hidden behind long skirts and stockings that reached the floor; But I'll sing the praises of modern maidens whose ankles are free to show, Allowing everyone to see their half-socks and the shape of their knees. Let them lament for those old-fashioned girls who turned in their toes And fainted at the mere mention of a proposal from a man; Compared to the young women today with their short haircuts and bobbed heads Who confidently meet proposals with a direct gaze. Let them shed all their tears and wail like a chorus Of sorrow for the simple, naive girl from days gone by But I'll cast my vote for the independent, bright, and vibrant woman of today – The one who's self-assured, real, and unapologetic.
