The Fifth Element "Zorg Door Bomb" Clock

This is my take on the "Zorg Door Bomb" from the movie "The Fifth Element". I built it into a clock with a countdown timer that must be deactivated with a little PCB that slides in the top, just like in the movie. This build requires etching your own copper PCB and creating custom made PCBs that need to be fabbed from your boardhouse of choice. You'll also need to know how Arduino works, including bootloading an SMD ATmega328 and uploading sketches with FTDI. The source files for the electronics are available on my website: http://kevinrye.net/source/. If you're not into electronics, you can still make it as a desk prop by using Adafruit's I2C 7-Segment Display: https://www.adafruit.com/products/878 and 4 x 5mm red LEDs. These are common, run-of-the-mill red LEDs. I also included my original SketchUp file if you need to make any tweaks to the model.
