I wanted to create an awesome character that would serve as a great example for first-year students of what can be achieved with limited resources. The character here showcases the full potential of our budget, utilizing 6500 triangles for the model itself and 500 triangles for the prop. I successfully completed this bard character in just two days, and I'm extremely proud to have accomplished that feat! Day one was dedicated to sculpting and retopology, while day two focused on baking and texturing. There are still some tweaks to be made to the bake and texture, which I'll save for the weekend. For now, this model will be used as a teaching tool for rigging and posing in 3DS Max later on. I deliberately changed the concept to better fit the brief's requirements, ensuring it adheres to the rules of avoiding capes and drapery-like objects around animation areas to simplify the process. Additionally, the character features a removable head for easy head swaps, as it will also be used in a game where it appears multiple times on screen with color and head swaps, making it blend seamlessly into the environment.
