The Egg Lathe
thingiverse
This is an awesome little lathe for coloring eggs, perfect for the whole family! The parent can take charge and kids get hands-on control over the tooling. Happy Easter! Instructions: Print out all pieces with a super-thin layer setting of 2 shells and just 10% infill to make it really strong. You'll need to print out two identical egg_holder2.stl files - that's essential! All posts should be printed with support because we did it this way, and they turned out great! The helper disks on the slider.stl file and gear_house.stl are super-useful in preventing warping. Don't worry if you're new to printing - all parts fit snugly together like puzzle pieces. See the picture for easy assembly! A teeny-tiny wood screw fits perfectly into the back hole on the slider mechanism to lock it tightly onto the ways. Ways should be glued firmly into place within the gear house. One last thing: using a teensy-weensy bit of two-sided mounting tape inside each egg holder is super-smart and keeps them from slipping around!
