The Dying Tecumseh
myminifactory
This larger-than-life sculpture of a dying American Indian chief was created by German artist Ferdinand Pettrich in the mid-1800s. The legendary leader is remembered for uniting various Native American tribes and forming an alliance with the British to resist the United States during the War of 1812. His death at the Battle of the Thames in 1813 marked a turning point, as it led to the British retreat and the eventual surrender of the united tribes to William Henry Harrison, who would later become the ninth President of the United States.
