The filament dust filter clip has proven itself to be an incredibly useful accessory. By printing one clip for each spool owned using the spool's filament, many clips have been successfully printed with various materials (PLA, ABS, PETG, wood). Recently acquired new filament spools prompted me to update the original design and make it more compact while reducing post-printing processing requirements. The new design integrates the clip and filter shell into a single part. Initially, these parts were designed separately, requiring them to be clipped together. However, this initial design proved versatile enough to fit all existing spool types (Prusa, Filamentum, Prima Select, etc.). Next, the size of the filter shell was reduced, revealing that even a small piece of sponge can effectively clean and hold accumulated dust after several months of use. The edges of the filter shell and cap are now chamfered, making it easier to place the cap onto the filter shell. Lastly, I added a small notch to facilitate opening the filter sponge chamber.
