# A Dramatic D20 with Personality and Character This is a D20 dice that I've designed to be what I consider to be an amazing dice: 1. It must be numerically balanced 2. Have a dramatic personality - in this case, this dice would travel and hobble quite a bit before it decides to settle on a specific face 3. Will roll even with the most minimal of effort 4. Prints well with any standard FDM printer with easy-to-remove supports Improve your tabletop gaming experience with a dice that understands that drama requires some level of anticipation :). A video of the full explanation of the dice design can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/nQFpaxCI1CE ## File Descriptions The package contains the following files: - **D20_v2.1_improved_30/120mm.stl** - These are the latest, most improved version of the dice that rolls extremely well on both soft and hard surfaces. Recommended that you use this version. - **D20_25/120mm.stl** - Version 1.0 of the dice, which is more polygonal and improves upon similar commercial D20s in the market. Rolls better on soft surfaces. Print these if you like the more angular aesthetics of your dice. - **D20-version1-source.fcstd** - The FreeCAD 0.17 source file for version 1.0 of the dice. The 25/30mm files are optimized for smaller dice scales (recommended scales being 30mm, 25mm and 21.5mm); while the 120mm ones are optimized for larger sizes and have a shallower indent for dice faces. ## Update History ### 2018-11-23: Version 2.1: Fixed issues with the mesh ### 2017-09-14: Version 2.0: Now rolls on hard surfaces and bigger font! After designing my ideal D6, I noticed a major flaw of my existing version 1.0 design: that it'll only roll well on softer surfaces but loses its dramatic personality on hard wood surfaces. Learning from my mistake with my newer D6 design, I've incorporated a spherical design to this new version and will now roll well on both soft and hard surfaces. I've also used a bolder and larger font to improve the readability of the dice faces, whatever the scale you printed the dice. It's also easier to paint over numbers to make stunning-looking dice.
