The Dragon of Komodo
sketchfab
This majestic creature is the largest living lizard species in existence today. It can grow up to a maximum of 3 metres in length and weigh anywhere between 70-90 kilograms, which translates to approximately 150 pounds. Due to its immense size and formidable features, this reptile has no natural predators and reigns supreme as a top predator. Its skin is reinforced with sturdy armored scales that provide excellent protection against any potential threats. The creature's claws serve primarily as deadly weapons, capable of inflicting severe injuries on its prey. Its elongated skull houses an incredibly powerful jaw lined with more than 60 razor-sharp teeth, making it a force to be reckoned with. What makes this predator even more terrifying is that its bite is venomous and can prove fatal to its victims. In many cases, the prey manages to escape, but ultimately succumbs to blood-poisoning within just a few days. This perfect predator waits patiently for its next meal, always ready to strike. Special thanks go out to the Hungarian Natural History Museum for granting me the opportunity to capture these incredible photos. A total of 700 pictures were taken to reconstruct this model, although only 150-200 would have been sufficient. I was particularly fascinated by the skin texture and decided to scan the entire body using a macro lens. The resulting reconstructed model boasts an impressive 540 million tris, which was simplified to approximately 1.4 million polygons. Not a single edit was made to this model; it was uploaded directly from my computer without any post-processing. I hope you enjoy this stunning creation!
