This robust image of Mortality stands at the heart of the cemetery of the Pure. On his shield, a quatrain proclaims: " He is alive with boundless creativity. Not limited by strengthI deliver my dart swiftlyTo yawn to their nourishmentTo pray to God for transgressions " At the conclusion of the cemetery, in 1786, the skeleton was brought to Saint-Gervais, then Notre Dame, where the arm was recreated by the skilled sculptor Deseine, then placed in the Museum of French Monuments. It is now on permanent display at The Louvre, with some casts and reproductions found throughout France. This object is part of "Scan The World".
