The Dancing Faun of Pompeii
thingiverse
The Dancing Faun, a renowned ancient bronze discovered in 1830 at the House of the Faun in Pompeii, has captured the hearts of many since its discovery. Instantly famed, it was compared to the Barberini Faun and adored by Victorians who praised its ecstatic expression. Now, Cosmo Wenman has laser-scanned a 19th-century plaster cast of the Faun at the Skulpturhalle Basel museum, restoring lost detail in the process, to create a 1:1 bronze copy - the first of its kind. Interested buyers are encouraged to contact Cosmo Wenman directly. The project, "Through A Scanner, Skulpturhalle," can be viewed at thingiverse.com/thing:83781.
