The Custard Cream Box

Custard Cream 2

I wasn't too happy with my original Custard Cream model, as it was only the top layer - so here it's expanded it into a simple box with a base biscuit and 'filling' layer that holds a modest volume. Like the previous design, this remix is 2x original scale, but welcomes being scaled even larger!

The top is now slightly curved to mimic the real biscuit, but I realise it's still not that realistic, as the base is not curved (to make the print easier and simpler) and the top details are still somewhat sharp-edged. But it's fun nonetheless.

The parts friction fit quite well together, but there is the option to glue the base and filling together if desired, so the top comes off when pulled, instead of the base.

Printing

My example was printed in PLA with a 0.6mm nozzle; I'm sure better detail can be achieved on the top design with a finer one. I also tried some light fuzzy skin effect on the outer walls which is a welcome touch to emulate the slight roughness of a biscuit.

The .3mf file is only intended as a reference for print settings that I used (I did not use fuzzy skin with the white filling model.) I recommend using 0.15mm or finer layer thickness on the top, as its curvature is otherwise not too well resolved.
