In The Creator scene, I bring back the manilla artifact first seen in “Congo Square”, paired with a self-portrait created using photogrammetry. This method of digital asset development is essentially: "a three-dimensional measurement technique that uses photography to determine the location of common features between multiple photographs and then reconstruct a 3D model of an object." Beyond this theoretical explanation, the material circumstances of the technique reflect Jeremy Bentham's panopticon, as the soon-to-be-digitized object must be rendered inert and photographed from every possible angle. In this scenario, the relationship between the supposed creator of the digital model and the object being represented is a mirror image of that between the colonizer and the colonized body, a type of techno-scientific manifestation of Hegel's master-slave dialectic.
