This is the spool mount that should come with the printer. Clips on the bottom rail and points up to the feeder, as shown in the picture of my printer. Attach the spool arm from the printer to the end of this clip, and the spool sits right next to the feeder. There are no bends, no friction points, and no extra hardware needed. The mount is designed to be tight so it won't vibrate. However, with a clean print, you can tap it up the rail 20mm or 1 1/8 inches. You should aim to tap it all the way up the rail but do not go any further, as this could cause the spool to hit the feeder stepper motor. I have included two different versions of the mount (a shorter and a longer one) so you can choose the best option for your needs. The shorter version is slightly lower, which means the filament will need to travel up to the feeder from the spool. The longer version has the spool at a perfect height but sticks out a bit more to the left. I briefly checked the makers of this design and did not see them listed. This is a remix of sketches that I have combined from about three different sources to create one package with the best features. I found a sketch that had a longer arm, but it required extra screws, so I took the rail clip from another source, eliminating the need for any additional hardware. The holes for the nuts are slightly smaller than usual, which ensures they line up perfectly with the existing holes. To add extra support to the clip, I added a small piece that connects it to the head of the clip. The design also features a 0.1mm "3" stamped onto it, which was a test of my printer's capabilities and adds a touch of personality. I would like to extend my gratitude to those who originally designed these components, as their work has been invaluable in creating this spool mount.
