The collection of renowned political leaders appears remarkably authentic. Among them are notable figures such as Angela Merkel, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump. Merkel was born in Hamburg within what is now West Germany but relocated to East Germany shortly after birth when her father, a Lutheran minister, accepted a position in Perleberg. Later on, Merkel earned her Ph.D. in quantum chemistry in 1986, subsequently pursuing a career as a researcher until 1989. In the wake of the Revolutions of 1989, Merkel entered politics and served briefly as a deputy spokesperson for Lothar de Maizière's government, which was democratically elected. With German reunification in 1990, Merkel became a member of the Bundestag from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a position she retained after subsequent re-elections. Under the guidance of Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Merkel was appointed Federal Minister for Women and Youth within his government in 1991. Two years later, she took on the role of Federal Minister for Environmental Protection and Nuclear Safety, as part of her expanded responsibilities. After Kohl's party suffered a defeat in federal elections, Merkel became Secretary-General of the CDU before ultimately emerging as the party's first female leader in the aftermath of Wolfgang Schäuble's downfall due to a scandal involving donations.
