The Collapse of Isfallsglaciären 2018, Sweden

On August 6 and September 1, 2018 The northern tongue of Isfallsglaciären collapsed about 40 meters downward on August 26, 2018. Heavy rain and massive crevasses formed along the melting front, causing the entire tongue to lose its grip. This phenomenon has occurred in other locations before in Sweden, but never captured with such high resolution until now. See the entire glacier as it appeared in 2017 Figure: M3C2 Surface change in meters between the dates (red indicates negative change) The August model was created from 32 oblique drone images, and the September model from 41 oblique helicopter images taken with a DSLR.
