The closed nut - a counter weight foot
thingiverse
This counterweight (~66g) attaches to a M6 threaded rod; alternatively, secure it without closing the bottom using an M6 washer and nut as a foot. The 19.6mm diameter washer fits atop the M20 nut, complementing the printed part that ensures centered weight placement while washers hide it. The design incorporates Marcaxi's screw. To print the weight_M20onM6.stl part, assemble according to the picture. For OpenScad use, place "Metric Screw Thread Library" files in the same directory. Required hardware for a closed nut includes a M6 threaded rod, M20 nut, and two M6 washers (6.4mm, 19.6mm diameter). Two more M6 nuts are also needed. The washer and nut combination is seamless, but the printed part enhances stability. A balance weight for a M12 nut and a thumb wheel for M6 nuts have been added to fine-tune rod balancing and secure the balance weight, respectively. Thumb wheel hardware requires one M6 nut.
