The crumbling clock tower now stands as a magnet for curious tourists. This was another challenging assignment that called for creating an environment with a visual style reminiscent of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker's unique aesthetic. The task required crafting a setting that would transport players into a whimsical world, teeming with secrets to uncover. To achieve this look, I sculpted all the normal maps seen in the scene using Mudbox. However, due to limited access to Substance, I was forced to rely on Photoshop for creating the textures. Despite these technical hurdles, the final result showcases a cohesive and enchanting environment that immerses players into its mystical realm. A notable exception is the bridge, which remains unfinished due to an intractable issue: no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't successfully bake a normal map onto its surface.
