The Citadel

myminifactory

I created this tower as a direct homage to The Citadel (aka Hightower) artwork from Game of Thrones. The foundation is entirely my own design, drawing inspiration from no specific source. The tower boasts an intentional void in its structure, while the windows are carefully positioned for maximum visibility. This design allows you to insert a LED light source, creating an inviting ambiance within. Alternatively, placing a single LED at the top as a bonfire effect could be visually stunning - I simply haven't had the chance to test this yet. To achieve optimal print quality, it's crucial to maintain a slow and deliberate pace when printing the tower. Conversely, a 0.2mm layer height proved sufficient for the base. Due to its exceptional height, the model has been divided into two distinct files. When assembled correctly, the pieces fit together seamlessly; however, if you suspect any calibration issues with your printer, it's wise to scale the design down slightly to ensure a smooth build process. The tower itself requires no support structures, whereas the base greatly benefits from strategically placed supports on the build platform - specifically underneath the model. I found that sparse supports were more than sufficient for my printing needs.
