The Cheap Flying Wing V2
thingiverse
The epic Cheap Flying Wing is making a return! Now with less lead in the nose. Here's a video of the thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4Ru34oyMNU The "fuselage" (central part of the wing) has been lengthened and deepened, but is still made of two symmetric parts and is supposed to be 3D printed out of PLA. The two halves should be glued with CA glue. The top cover can be used with a latch mechanism or simply stuck down with tape. The wings themselves are supposed to be hot wire cut out of 50mm thick extruded styrofoam (XPS) and covered with tape/thermoadhesive film/ thin expoxy+fiberglass laminate. The spars are 7mm square pine/hard wood strips. Requires A2212 or equivalent motor, 2 servomotors (9g/17g) and 160g-300g of batteries. Servos should be placed near the middle of the elevons. All the CATIA source files are included in the "CATIA Source Files.rar" file. The XFLR5 source files (complete with VLM2 Analysis and Stability Analysis) are included in the "XFLR5 Sources.rar" file.
