The castle of the English
cults3d
The English castle, situated near the village of Autoire in the Lot region of Occitania, stands as a formidable fortification carved into the face of a cliff. Its name is derived from its occupants during the tumultuous Hundred Years' War period. Historical records indicate that the first references to this structure date back to around 1260. However, what remains today is significantly larger than the original cliffside development. A photograph of the site showcases the ruins of the castle within their context. This visual representation provides a clear understanding of the layout and design of the fortification. For those seeking to locate this historic site on Google Maps: The Castle of the English 46400 Autoire, France Latitude: 44.851165 Longitude: 1.813880 In creating this model, I have applied the established design principles for structures of this type. The process begins with a photogrammetric treatment, which is particularly effective in restoring the cliff's original appearance. This approach allows us to accurately determine the building's proportions. Subsequently, we reconstruct the architecture, meticulously managing the intricate details that will be rendered in 3D printing. The final step involves integrating the built model into the 3D scan. As with many of my previous projects, I then print the model to validate the process and ensure a satisfactory outcome.
