The Casa Bartholdy fresco cycle
sketchfab
This model brings to life a recreation of the fresco cycle at Casa Bartholdy, the apartment occupied by Jakob Salomon Bartholdy within Rome's Palazzo Zucchari. The Nazarenes, a group of German artists, painted these frescoes back in 1816. In 1885, they were taken down and moved to Berlin's Alte Nationalgalerie, where their original order remains a subject of debate ever since. This recreation is based on the sequence proposed by Robert McVaugh in his article "A Revised Reconstruction of the Casa Bartholdy Fresco Cycle" back in 1984.
